K-Five was honored, proud, and humbled to be part of a surprise truck parade to celebrate a brave young boy, Dylan Schroeder, as he finished his last cancer treatment!
From the CBS News article with a video of the parade linked at bottom: “Dylan would prefer a construction site over Disney World,” said his father, Fred Schroeder. “He deserves it. He deserves every minute of it.” [...] Dylan has spent three of his six years on this earth with leukemia. “He takes his last chemo pill tonight,” said Dylan’s mother, Joanna Schroeder. “That’s going to be really emotional.” But for a moment in time, all that worry and anxiety went away when that parade of trucks came through. “It just fills your heart,” Joanna Schroeder said. “It makes every single – every tear, every difficult day just really worth it – just to be able to give him this at the end.” Many thanks to Mark Lindbloom and Steve Radtke for coordinating and a special shout out to Tom Urbanczyk for taking his time on Sunday- complete with a lowboy and paver and a few K-Five gifts- to provide Dylan a surprise of immeasurable joy! Congratulations and best wishes to Dylan and his family! https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2020/11/29/6-year-old-dylan-schroeder-gets-his-surprise-parade-of-trucks-as-he-finishes-cancer-treatment/
