Business demands safe and efficient transportation systems, K-Five Construction works to insure our customers, whether the motoring public or private companies have the transportation foundation to do precisely this. We've built our reputation on this for generations.
In the early part of the 20th century William J. Newman and George Krug both owned construction companies. Newman's companies worked on a majority of the caisson work downtown skyscrapers are built upon. Krug's company did extensive excavating work in the downtown area as well. The marriage of William Newman's daughter Josephine to George Krug's son George in 1941 provided the future foundation for the current owners of K-Five Construction. Today Josephine and George's children and grandchildren are owners and involved in the corporation.
Originally started as a residential paving company, K-Five Construction has grown into one of the largest unionized heavy highway paving contractors in the State of Illinois, in both government and private areas. K-Five employs hundreds of people in the height of the construction season. We've grown from a small family into a much larger and extended family reaching across the state.
K-Five has understood from the beginning that we are only as good as our team. Seasoned veterans working alongside with new talent in the industry, all are dedicated to working hard for our customers. We look forward to the future and are committed to leading the industry in honesty, safety, integrity, and exceeding expectations.
